Bundle of energy...

Dear Nicky,

I hardly slept last night. I think it was something I ate. I kept waking up to go to the bathroom, and since I was up, I would check on you. Don't worry, I always washed my hands first. You really don't need checking up on; it's just something we do as parents because we can't help it. Anyway, I slept terribly. I was a little worried that my tail would drag all day long today and that I wouldn't be of much use to you. In actuality, what happened was that you're such a sunny kid that you fill me full of energy. It was quite nice out today, despite the heat, and we went out for two walks. This morning I read to you from the New York Times, and this afternoon I read to you from Abraham by Bruce Feiler. Inside you did well on tummy time and took a nice long nap on my chest in the afternoon. This foam seat, called a Bumbo seat, arrived this afternoon also. You took to it pretty good right away. We're hoping it'll help you sit up and steady your head even more. It really does look quite comfortable.

Love,
Dad
