Early dismissal...
Dear Nicky,
Not that I don't love you or anything, and I'm always happy to see you when you get off your ride, but sheesh, today's early dismissal from Stones was a great inconvenience and an over-reaction on Stones' part. I mean, sure the roads were a tiny bit slippery, but really, they couldn't have waited two more hours? You know what you do when you drive on slippery roads? You put your car in a lower gear and drive slower. How hard is that to understand? Apparently it's very hard because many people just don't understand the laws of physics. Three thousand pounds of cheap metal isn't just going to stop on a dime even under the most optimal conditions, let alone icy roads. So when you got home it was business as usual, then we went to get Junie. You went up and down the steps like a champ. And you ate a good dinner and had a banana afterward. Mom put you guys to bed tonight because Junie was becoming a pain in my butt. But there's good news there too in that she seems to have shaken her cough that was threatening to hack up a lung just a couple days ago. They're predicting a major ice storm overnight, so we'll see what tomorrow looks like. It'd be great if it weren't so bad that they have to cancel schools because I need the time to get stuff done before I head back up to New Hampshire on Thursday. If I head up.
Love,
Dad
